The Loki plate is solid, and not just in quality.

3mm might sound thin, but don’t underestimate 3mm of titanium. Brute strength isn’t going to snap it. That’s for sure.

And it’s great we just get one plate instead of two, reducing the weight by half compared to Cryptotag Zeus.

The letters on the plate itself are tiny, so it would be near impossible to read at a glance, unless you’re an elf or something. 

The included privacy covers go over the outside of the plate to shield wandering eyes. Cryptotag also sells classy Bitcoin privacy covers if interested.

Also in the box is a gothic inspired pencil, a hole puncher and some earplugs for when we get those decibels going.

An Easier Setup For The Cryptotag Loki

Let’s set up the titanium seed backup.

As you’ll see, this was actually much simpler compared to the Zeus.

After scanning the given QR code, Cryptotag does well to give a detailed walkthrough before banging on irreversible metal.

To begin, grab the desired seed phrase and find the first seed word listed.

Take the gothic pencil and scribble over the first four letters for each row.

That’s why Loki is easier than the complicated number system of the Cryptotag Zeus, reducing the chance of mistakes and making it quicker to punch holes.

Then take the puncher and push down over the letter that was scribbled on with the pencil.

Continue this process for all the words in the seed phrase.

And here’s the finished product, majestically twinkling in the moonlight.

Note you can actually get more bang for your buck if you store two 12 word seed phrases using front and back separately. But be aware that just one 24 word seed phrase will use up the entire titanium slab.

If needed, use the ID system to differentiate two 12 word seed phrases at the bottom.

Start to finish took about 20 minutes.

Heat? Corrosion? Crush? Cryptotag Is Built Different!

As for durability, it turns out titanium is pretty strong against fire – if you didn’t get that by now.

Whether scratched or banged, the plate holds strong.

And the backup is said to withstand 1665 degrees Celsius, which actually means it can withstand your average house fire around 600°C.

Serial seed backup tester Jlopp is yet to test the Loki for heat, corrosion and crush.

But based on the ratings of other Cryptotag backups, and the fact the plates are the same exact quality as the Zeus, it’s highly likely the Loki would also receive an A grade as well.
